1) He received the memory of pain and is finally able to acknowledge what real/true pain. He experienced the pain of a broken leg, and isn’t allowed to get any relief-of-pain.
2) I’m not sure what you mean by sent away. I’m going to assume that he’s sent away into the process of receiving memories. He is the receiver-in-training, so it is his duty to receive the memories and knowledge from the Giver.
3) Larissa is an elderly woman in the House of the Old. She was mentioned when Jonas bathed her as volunteering work at the House of the Old.
