Week 6 Summarizer

Since only one person have done their duty for six, which is Violet, I’m mainly going to talk about her.

I agree the part where you say Jonas is finally experiencing true pain and death which is a brand new thing for Jonas.

For a community where sharing is an important duty, Jonas may feel very uncomfortable not being able to share things from training to others. But I guess he shouldn’t share those memories anyway, since because nobody would understand it the way he does.

“I would try hard to really captivate and understands his mixed emotions”, in a world like Jonas’? Emotions is not a thing, you may have feelings, but not emotions.

You really describe how Jonas’ feel and how much you understand that situation of his. Also you used words to describe the story of the giver and you mixed in a little of how you feel about the book which is great.

week 5 connector

As i read these 3 section they remind me a lot of my own life, and other books i have read. In the begging of chapter 11 he meets a man and he is able to take Jonas’s memories away , and this reminds me of me, when ever i forget to do something or i misplace something and i forget where i put it . The book harry potter is a lot like the giver , a boy gets assigned a very special ability then he goes to a secret school and learns how to master that ability. In the hunger games Katniss is a lot like Jonas they both live in a world where they don’t get to make there own choices and all the communities and districts are separated. This section is a lot like all the other sections before this but alot more changes happen, and they happen more dramatically and rapidly .

Week 6 – Reflector

I think that this is the starting point where Jonas is seeing the true and terrifying side of the society. I predict that from now onwards, he would have to go through and experience a lot of pain, but receiving new knowledge at the same time; this potentially raises his desire of creating a change.

The mood and tone within the chapters varied. In chapter 14, there was a very unpleasant mood. This is because Jonas had to feel/experience pain for the first time. There was also a confused, unsure feeling. This feeling lingered because he was starting to look at the community differently and he also had to hide everything from his family and friends.

I think of the horrible feelings Jonas must have been feeling. I would try hard to really captivate and understand his mixed emotions.

I think that his introduction to pain really changed him. It would start only as a minor change, but this is certainly the starting point to many huge new changes. In a way, his introduction to pain is already changing the way he thinks, his perspective of the society, and also his daily routines.

Some big ideas within the chapters are:
– Jonas finally received his first memory of pain.
– He’s starting to question the society, saying that it’s unfair and there should be a change.
– He’s also getting concepts of death and war – which are brand new to him.

The chapters are somewhat intriguing me because Jonas is finally seeing the horrifying, yet real part of the society.

I think that the story is setting its way towards the climax point. Things are finally heating up.
